Community Involvement

Kelly & Bryant are proud to be part of the Te Awamutu and surrounding community and we enjoy taking part in a number of different community events and offering sponsorship support to various sporting codes and local sporting bodies. 

Below are some of the sports and community causes we are delighted to support.

SPORTING EVENTS

2010 Harness Jewels
We are extremely excited to have been awarded joint naming rights to the 2010 Harness Jewels Event.  The Harness Jewels is the event of the year on the Harness Racing calendar.  36 companies from around the Waipa area agreed to put up sponsorship support for the event and were all put into a draw to potentially become the joint naming partner with Sky City Hamilton.  It was somewhat by default that we ended up winning the naming rights!  As the last company to be drawn out of the hat, there was only one key left for us to choose, which you guessed it, unlocked the lucky last box which just so happened to hold the major prize!  We look forward to attending the Harness Jewels on Saturday 5th June 2010 at Cambridge Raceway.

International Polo Test
We have been attending the International Polo Test at Nga-Rakau Polo Ground,  Kihikihi since the event began in 2008.  Although not an official sponsor of the day, we usually reserve one or two sites, erect our marquee and invite clients, staff, friends and family to come along and enjoy a day at the Polo!  It has been great to see the New Zealand Polo team collect the winners title at each event!

The Maunga Cycle Challenge
We were delighted to be a sponsor of the Maunga Cycle Challenge held on 22nd November 2009.  The Maunga Cycle Challenge was a 100km cycle around the great Maungatautari Mountain which has spectacular scenery, with topography to provide interest and variety for riders.  $5 from every entry to the event went to Maungatautari Ecological Island Trust - a great  cause!

Te Awamutu Rowing Club Annual Regatta
The Te Awamutu Rowing Club held its annual regatta on Saturday 7th November 2009.  We were proud sponsors of eight different events on the day and were pleased to be able to help the Te Awamutu Rowing Club raise funds for Club house upkeep and training equipment for all school, club and Maters Rowers.

Stewart Alexander Golf Club
For the past couple of years, we have been the major sponsor of the Stewart Alexander Golf Course.  Situated in Pokuru, Stewart Alexander  is an attractive course with rural views.  Stewart Alexander has hosted our annual golf day for two years running.

Te Awamutu Golf Club
We are sponsors of the 1st Tee at the Te Awamutu Golf Club.

Bowers Cup - Rugby Team
We were proud sponsors of the Bowers Cup rugby team - an under 45kgs Waikato Central representative rugby team.  The Bowers Cup tournament was played in July/August 2009. Unfortunately our team didn't leave as the tournament winners but a great experience for our young budding rugby players to be involved in!

Te Awamutu Primary School Netball Team
Our sponsorship contribution to a Te Awamutu Primary School Netball team meant that the girls all had brand new uniforms, in line with those worn by the Silver Ferns, to play in for the season.  It was great to see the sponsorship money put to good use so that the children were able to look and feel their best while taken part in their chosen sport!

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Pride of Te Awamutu Awards
The Pride of Te Awamutu awards are hosted by Te Awamutu Alive group and aim to recognise outstanding achievement - to acknowledge and say thank you and well done on behalf of the community to past and present Te Awamutu and district residents who have achieved great success in their field of interest.  We congratulate Te Awamutu Alive for taking a pro-active approach to marketing and promoting our town and are very proud to be associated with a worthy event such as the Pride of Te Awamutu Awards.

Te Awamutu Jersey Cattle Club Annual Show
The Te Awamutu Jersey Cattle Club held its annual show on Wednesday 18th November 2009. K+B gladly assisted in providing sponsorship support and were delighted that a few staff members were able to attend and present ribbons to the winners of our class.

Te Awamutu Food & Wine Festival
For the past four years, Te Awamutu has hosted its very own food and wine festival. The food and wine festival always makes for a great day out for the family with live music, great food, great wine and fun rides for the kids. K+B usually book a site for the day and with our maquee up, sit back and enjoy a day of fun in the sun!
